NIF…Never Ends - AVGI “NOW YOU SEE ME”

As part of the International Theatre Festival and under the UNDER 30 section, Avgi presents her work  highlighting the diversity of every human being. Her lyrics are based on her life experiences where she fought for the acceptance of her diversity by society. Her songs talk about relationships with other people and the emotional struggle with herself. Her album, entitled "NOW YOU SEE ME", consists of eight tracks. Its title symbolizes her willingness to show who she is, it is a conversation with her inner self.

The setting for the concert will be set in a way that evokes simple everyday life so that the audience can identify with the words and music they hear. To be able to feel that these words are written for his own life, to be able to feel that it is okay to express his feelings and his diversity.

The emotional songs, unique melodies and the colour of her voice characterizes the young Cypriot musician Avgi Stavrou. Through her new album she highlights the diversity of every human being. Biography

Born in 1994, in Nicosia, Cyprus, Avgi Stavrou, a singer-songwriter began learning the guitar, writing her own lyrics, and composing music at the age of 10. Specialising in Jazz Vocals, she graduated with a Bachelor in Music from the European University of Cyprus in 2017. Throughout the years, she has gained recognition for her emotionally charged lyrics and her unique vocal texture and timbre. Apart from performing in several local venues throughout the island, Avgi has also participated on bigger stages such as the Fengaros Music Festival in 2016 and 2018, Cyprus Pride Concert 2017 and MoonWalk.

Alongside internationally renowned artists, the Nicosia International Festival presents Cypriot artists, both established and young. Starting in 2024, in order to systematically support young artists in their first steps, the Nicosia International Festival… never ends is establishing the UNDER30 Programme, exclusively for local artists under 30 years old.
