Wuthering Heights is the tempestuous, passionate story of a mad and doomed love affair between Katherine Ernso- the wild daughter of a wealthy landowner- and Heathcliff- a "stray" child picked up off the streets and raised as a child by Katherine's father, Mr. Ernshaw. After Mr. Ernshaw's death, his son Hindley- who from the beginning is jealous and envious of the newcomer boy- having now become the boss, he bullies and humiliates Heathcliff, whose only consolation is his relationship with Katherine. Everything changes when Catherine meets a rich, handsome and cultured young man, Edgar Linton, and is dazzled by the social status he offers her. Heathcliff leaves home in disgrace and Catherine marries Edgar. But Heathcliff will return three years later as a wealthy and sophisticated gentleman, carrying with him an abysmal hatred and a single thought: revenge...
