About the event:

"An album. A story. My story. Join me on a journey back to my homeland, to my roots, to summer nights and cool breezes, to the sun and the sea; a journey to discover my true self and who I really am." Jo Loui’s first album is about foreignness, depression, and gender dysphoria, standing up against homophobia and discrimination.

More about the event:

Jo Loui's musical journey is full of soul, emotional lyrics, and powerful storytelling. From childhood to adulthood, Jo's life journey has been a story of self-discovery and daring to embrace and reveal his true identity. It’s personal path and it’s first album are marked by a strong determination to confront racism, injustice, inequality and discrimination in all its forms. But this can only be achieved if we all strive for a world without stereotypes, where society does not expect people to live a life they have not chosen.

Jo Loui talks about homelessness, depression and gender dysphoria raising a voice against homophobia and discrimination. The concert promises to captivate the audience and give them a taste of the melodies and rhythms of the island of Aphrodite and the beauty of the Cypriot dialect.

Piano: Marian Fricke
