Following a highly successful run in Athens in October 2024, Andromache, the powerful directorial vision of Riginos Riginou, travels to Cyprus – the director’s birthplace – for just two performances in Nicosia.
How would it feel to become, for one night, part of the revival of one of the most haunting Greek myths?
Andromache, the princess of Troy and widow of Hector, arrives in Greece after the devastation of the Trojan War. As a captive and concubine of Pyrrhus, son of Achilles, she endures a painful
journey before finding refuge in Epirus. There, faced with oblivion, she struggles to redefine her identity.
Through a contemporary monologue of awakening, Andromache embodies the woman-survivor who refuses to forget. The performance explores themes such as exile, loss, the search for a new identity, and the fight against erasure—conveying the heroine’s inner torment through the power of art.
But how would it feel… to stand in her place for 50 minutes?
