Rita’s Last Fairy Tale is a poetic and enigmatic cinematic work in which Renata Litvinova weaves together reality and mysticism in her signature auteur style. The film is steeped in a dreamlike atmosphere, exploring solitude and meditations on death, love, and fate. Its heroines — strong, strange, and beautiful — leave a lasting impression, and the film’s visual language is closer to theater or painting than to conventional cinema.
