Eleonora Zouganeli "On different paths" as part of the Nicosia International Festival

Greek singer Eleonora Zouganeli one of the most important interpreters of the new generation, will take us "On different paths" in a concert taking place on Friday 29 November (20:30) at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre as part of the Nicosia International Festival 2024.

The concert will feature songs - little gems of the Greek repertoire. It all started from a thought by Leda Roumani for a journey through time. Songs that have captivated entire generations shall be performed in her own very personal interpretation. Memories, experiences, childhood trips, songs she listened to alone or with her friends. With an acoustic mood the charismatic singer shall this time wander through the paths of the Greek folk song, starting from Giorgos Mouzakis' "Monopati", giving new life to selected folk and archontorebetiko songs and will reach the present day of Greek folk songs, making some "stops" in Mediterranean folk songs. In her paths she is joined by a six-member band under the guidance of Thomas Konstantinou. An evening full of emotion and memories that bridge the past with the present.

LMS presents PIANOFEST3, a piano festival featuring four virtuoso Cypriot pianists, Orestis Magou, Nicolas Costantinou, Rami Sarieddine and Eleni Mavromoustaki.

Music interpreters, in their capacity as universal performing artists, have always served as ambassadors of transnational artistic creation. Through their performances, they communicate to audiences an endless and diverse spectrum of meanings and messages, which, in its totality, ranks as the gateway to understanding human existence. As a deed of altruism, music sets the conditions for mutual understanding, solidarity, empathy and love. Works that once emerged from the inherent need for personal expression, and which constituted catalysts for spiritual uplift, now offer a glimmer of hope that humans will ultimately coexist. By contrast, works, which were originally intended to awaken national sentiment, have come to operate as bridges of familiarity and communication between different cultures and peoples. During their lifetime, many composers were severely criticized, if not persecuted, for the messages they sought to convey, precisely because the power of their music was regarded as a threat to the regime.

Nicosia 2030, candidate for European Capital of Culture, continues the promotion of young creators, through the programe #UNDER30, with the performance of Alexandros M. Kyriazi, "Jimmy & Freddie". The official premiere will be given in Hamburg on 23 November 2024 and the next stop it will be Cyprus and the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, on Tuesday 26 November 2024 (20:30). For the performance, the choreographer and dancer Alexandros M. Kyriazi shares the stage with the German dancer Victor Aaron Bolzmann.

Galaxy of Talents Festival is a two-weeks event consisting of Galaxy Music Contest, Galaxy Dance Contest, Galaxy Gala Concerts. This year it celebrates its 15th anniversary. «Η ζαργάνα της ιστορίας, ονόματι Λίλη, είναι ένα πειραχτήρι και ο πατέρας της, ο βασιλιάς, είναι πολύ προβληματισμένος με την κόρη του. Η σκανδαλιάρα ζαργάνα λοιπόν, ξυπνάει ένα πρωινό πολύ χαρούμενη, αφού είναι τα 16α γενέθλια της και σκέφτεται τι σκανδαλιές να κάνει. Τα σχέδια της, της τα χαλάει ο πατέρας της, ο οποίος την ενημερώνει πως βάσει της ψαροπαράδοσης, όταν μία ζαργάνα κλείνει τα 16, γίνεται η πριγκίπισσα της μπουρμπουλοπόλης όπου μένει. Για να γίνει όμως πριγκίπισσα, πρέπει να τηρήσει την παράδοση: να βρει ένα χαμένο θησαυρό και να τον φέρει στην μπουρμπουλοπόλη μέσα σε 5 ημέρες. Αλλιώς, χάνει το στέμμα της πριγκίπισσας και το παίρνει η κακιά δράκαινα που ζει σε έναν ύφαλο λίγο πιο έξω από την Μπουρμπουλοπόλη. Σε αυτές τις 5 ημέρες, θα έρθουν αντιμέτωποι με πολλά εμπόδια. Η μόλυνση των θαλασσών είναι ένα από τα εμπόδια που θα πρέπει να υπερπηδήσουν, μεταφέροντας το μήνυμα στους θεατές το πόσο σημαντικό είναι να σεβόμαστε το περιβάλλον. Οι ώρες περνούν πολύ γρήγορα, άραγε θα τα καταφέρουν να επιστρέψουν προτού αλλάξει η μέρα;

#Nicosia2030, candidate city for European Capital of Culture in collaboration with Avantgarde Cultural Organisation presents "The Concert of a Paradoxical World", a concert with two pianos, but with the pianist herself playing on both pianos at the same time. Two pianists, Elena Xydia and... Elena Xydia, will be on the stage of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre at the same time, in an epic battle with her own self, a battle with her whole line. Vera Polozkova will present her new book "Lost and Found" in Limassol


Vera Polozkova: "I’ve written a new book, my first one published outside of Russia. It contains 77 texts: about love, about war, about craft, about time, about memory, about what has been lost and what has been gained. 77, because that was my mother’s age when she left me this year."

A few years ago, Vera Polozkova and Alexander Manotskov reinvented the ancient genre of antiphons, where poetry, recitation, and music blend into one. Last season, Polozkova and Manotskov toured with Antiphons in 24 countries, regularly refreshing the content but preserving the original concept.

The new program will feature special songs written by Alexander Manotskov for Vera, performed for the first time, alongside readings from her new book, which has already arrived on the island.

Mgzavrebi in Cyprus: new album and all the greatest hits.

The band Mgzavrebi is coming to Cyprus with a headline show!

Today Mgzavrebi can be called one of the most popular bands in Georgia. Mgzavrebi was founded in 2006 by Gigi Dedalamazishvili, and its original lineup included only three musicians. Over the years, the band has grown to 15 members. Now it is 7 people on stage. The real break through happened after the release of David Imedashvili’s movie "City of Dreams" with the songs of the band as OST.

During the years Mgzavrebi have collaborated with such world-famous performers as Placido Domingo, Buena Vista Social Club, Andrea Bocelli and Nino Katamadze. The creativity of Mgzavrebi is a unique, emotional music, made of ethnic Georgian tunes, harmoniously flavored with rock energy and conquers even those listeners who are not familiar with the Georgian language. Not surprisingly, Mgzavrebi quickly gained popularity not only in their native Georgia, but also abroad.

In Cyprus the band will present a new album, as well as perform their best hits — all of which should be heard live, because Mgzavrebi is one of those bands whose music should be listened to live. There is something in their performance that a recording can not convey. See you at the show!

Nicosia 2030, candidate city for the European Capital of Culture presents the Onassis Stegi production “Babybird Babybird” a documentary theatre performance about the complex relationship between love life and reproductive capacity. The performance forms part of the 5^th Nicosia International Festival and shall take place at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre on 21 November 2024.
